President's Message

Welcome to the Orange County (CA) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (OCAC-CA)!

It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Orange County (CA) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. For over 47 years, OCAC-CA has been a pillar of service, scholarship, sisterhood and social action within Orange County. With over 60 dedicated members, we remain steadfast in our mission to uplift and empower our community through impactful programs, strategic partnerships, and unwavering commitment to service.

Our chapter is comprised of college-educated women from diverse professional backgrounds, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to our community service initiatives. We take great pride in our reputation as members who are "Trained to Serve" and approach our work with a Storm of Excitement!

A Legacy of Impact

Since our chartering, OCAC-CA has made a profound impact by investing in the future of our youth, awarding over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships to deserving students. We have also developed and implemented award-winning youth programs designed to inspire, educate, and prepare the next generation for success. Our “Success for Teens” program, received 1st Place recognition in Exemplary Program Planning and Development and was featured in Success Magazine. Our youth programs today consist of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy (middle school) and the Jeanne L. Noble GEMS program (high school).

Beyond education, OCAC-CA has remained at the forefront of critical community engagement efforts. We have hosted vital forums such as town hall meetings on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and, "Delta Days in Orange County," which brings together community leaders to discuss key social, economic, and political issues impacting our region.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

As a service-based organization, we recognize the power of collaboration in maximizing our impact. OCAC-CA proudly partners with local and national nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and civic groups to address pressing community needs. Our efforts have included:

  • Actively engaging in civic and social action, including participation in the annual “Great American Write-In”

  • Serving as a sponsoring organization for the Orange County Black History Parade and Cultural Fair

  • Maintaining active membership in the Orange County Pan-Hellenic Council, working alongside fellow members of the Divine Nine to foster unity and service in the community

  • Receiving the prestigious “Star Award” from the National Council of Negro Women-Orange County Section for our outstanding service initiatives
